LaVergne Lake Elementary Welcomes Dr. Holman

Principal Message:

Dr. Cary Holman has served in public education for 31 years. During this time, he has served as a teacher (1st, 5th, 6th), District At-Risk Coordinator, Middle School Assistant Principal, Elementary Principal, Middle School Principal, University Adjunct Instructor, and Superintendent. His extensive educational journey has and continues to impact the lives of families, communities, faculty, staff, and students.

Dr. Holman is fully committed to education. His passion is driven by purpose! His purpose is fueled by his professional demeanor and infectious energy. Dr. Holman has worked in Hamilton County, Franklin County, and Rutherford County School Districts.

Dr. Holman completed his collegiate work earning the following degrees: Motlow State Community College (A.S) University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (B.S), Tennessee State University (M. Ed), Middle Tennessee State University (Ed.S), and American College of Education (Ed.D). Dr. Holman enjoys teaching, leading, and also presenting at state and national conferences. Dr. Holman thrives on creating a nurturing, professional, and safe school culture/climate, leading professional development trainings, and establishing/sustaining connections resulting in life-long relationships.

Dr. Holman believes and views problems as "Opportunities." Additionally, he leads with professionalism, passion, a positive mindset, and purpose. During his time away from school, Dr. Holman loves spending time with his family, relaxing, cooking, and experiencing amusement parks

The 2026 RCS Summer Meal program starts June 2 and any child under 18 can participate. Breakfast and lunch will be available June 2-July 24 with curbside and dine-in options available. For ages 18 and up, breakfast is $2.50 and lunch is $4.25 (exact change only).
